Do I need a Builder’s License to build my own home?
No, a Builder’s License is not required to build your own home with M &
T’s financing program. You may act as your own general contractor and take
on the responsibility of constructing the home, yourself. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, hiring your own subcontractors, ordering
materials and supplies, scheduling all subcontractors and material/supply
deliveries, arranging payments terms with suppliers, laborers,
subcontractors, submitting draw requests, completing the Sworn Statement and
Lien Waivers and managing the project’s budget and expenses. For more
information, contact M & T Bank for more information. |
Why is the panelized home better
In a few words: You will have a better built home - in less time.
Here is why:
Climate Controlled Production - The major components of the home, the
roof, floor and walls, are manufactured in climate-controlled factories,
keeping the wood from the elements of nature. The result: Dryer lumber
means less warping, shrinking, twisting, rotting or swelling.
Walls will be straighter.
You'll have fewer nail-pops, ceiling or corner cracks
Windows and doors fit better, they wont stick and will need fewer
adjustments
|
2. Cost Savings
Less labor required to put the structure up
Shorter construction time frame
Guaranteed price up front; there are no costly overruns
Less cleanup cost at the job-site
Less material waste
Less job-site theft; its hard to steal a wall panel |
3. Excellent Quality
All components are manufactured to strict building standards & codes, and
thoroughly inspected every step of the way
State of the art computerized equipment ensures precision-built components
Even the most complex roof systems can be handled with ease
Years of buying experience gets you the best quality and value in windows,
doors, hardware
Better built looks better in the long run, and holds its value better |
4. Less home-builder stress
The major work is completed before the package arrives at your job site
Fewer contractors to deal with
Faster move-in date
Easier time attaining bank draws
Less time spent shopping around
Fewer costly delays caused by weather, sub-trades, etc.
A cleaner job site is a safer job site |
Is there a warranty?
Yes - The Residential Warranty Corporation Limited Structural Warranty
provides ten years of major structural defect protection and assurance that
any elements that do not meet standards will be corrected. Additional
warranty plans for major systems, materials and workmanship are available
through your builder and/or manufacturer.
Panelized construction saves both the builder and buyer time and money with
improved quality, efficiency and control. Since the first builder realized
that using a truss system to better build a complicated roof, panelized
homebuilding methods have become more and more technologically advanced,
leading to a wide array of benefits.
While the term “panelized housing” can refer to any number of construction
styles and techniques, the benefits of building with panels are universal.
From saving time to controlling costs and quality, reducing construction
material waste and more, it’s no wonder that more and more home builders and
buyers are choosing panelized home construction.
Make Your Designing Dreams a Reality
With the technology currently available and the inherent adaptability of the
panelized systems, no two panelized homes need ever be exactly alike. Most
custom home designs begin as nothing more than a daydream and a doodle.
Whether you are a professional designer or just have a floor plan in mind,
most panelized home companies can turn your idea into a dream home. With
computer-assisted design programs, designers and engineers can turn just
about any idea into a working blue print. In many cases, the plans for your
home are sent directly from a designer’s computer to the penalization shop
floor, ensuring your home is built accurately and efficiently.
